Finally found this on the NC general assembly web site.
Basically the left turn on red light that 44 other states are using.

This is good. But how do you know if the light has an inducive loop - Just wait to see if it cycles around and never gives you the green light?

I wonder if Ga has such a law?

I wonder if the HOG web site tells.

That was my question too? What side of town you on? (assuming around ATL but may be bad assumption). I'm out on the east side near the big rock.

serverpimp,

I'm south of you, in Columbus. I just checked out the AMA web site on state motorcycle laws. It does not even mention the red light deal. Helmets covered, height handle bars covered and lots more, but nothing about runnng a red light that doesn't know you're waiting.

PS - You going to the Ga HOG Rally in Macon? - I am

Most states(probably all)will have a statue on the books stating that a malfunctioning traffic signal will be treated as a 4-way stop. A sensor activated light that will not activate for a legal vehicle is malfunctioning and as such, after a"reasonable" delay to verify if it is working you are allowed to proceed.

90+% of LEO will ticket you anyway and you end up in traffic court.

the inducive loop is basically when you pull up to an intersection and the sensors in the pavement detect a vehicle and then trip the signal to turn green. Easy way to detect this...
Look at the pavement at the intersection where you stop your vehicle...you will notice small cut marks in the pavement in the form of a rectangle generally 5ft x 5ft with another line running to the curb.

In PA you can see the seams in the street. At the corner there are definite seam lines that cross at the corners of a "BOX" shape and the corners of the box are cutoff on a 45 degree angle You can definitley tell a controlled light. But remember if your state doesn't allow a left turn Three rights make a left (think about it)
