Default Stator sizing

I have a 2007 FLTHCU and need to replace the stator, After frying 2 voltage regulators, narrowed it down to the stator ( bad output and Funky smell after opening the Primary) have have a after market radio and Amp and was told while Im replacing it, get a 50 amp stator. Is there any issues with getting a larger output stator?
