Default Roadglide Electrical Problem

After taking battery and recharging it the speedometer illumination now will not work. Everything else works. Any ideas.

Guys as you can guess by my last two posts I am a cheap a-- and this is my first Roadglide so I'm beginning to think not much of a shade tree mechanic. Since the only thing I did was reinstall the battery after charging it I checked my connections which were fine. Then checked the fuses and yes I undoubtably grounded something reinstalling the battery. New 15 fuse and it now lights up and works once again. Duh. As Forest Gump would say, "stupid is as stupid does".....

You had a problem, did some trouble shooting and fixed it. Not bad if you ask me.

Thanks. Had to walk away for a few minutes before I could think straight and have a cold one or two. Was just a tad bit frustrated and I was afraid the bike would start cussing and acting like me. lol

My first action when a light bulb doesn't work is to pull the motor out and check the main bearings.

You had the where-with-all to walk away and come back. Good job! You have to do that when one becomes frustrated, instead of continuing to dig into things which creates a host of other problems.

From now on disconnect the ground wire first when removing and last when installing and you can avoid problems like that.
