Has anyone here *re-worked* your LePera Silhouette seat?
I've an '09 EGS, with the Silhouette Solo, and Pillion. I love the position of the seat. But comfort wise... well... less than desirable.
Has anyone had yours re-worked with Biker-Gel, or the like? Thoughts on this?
Does LePera do this mod after purchase? Or will they mod your existing seat? If not, who does a good job at it? (If, it is worth doing)
As another possibility, what other seat is comparable to this seat, BUT with long ride comfort?
SRO, TIA!

check with a local indi, they may know some upholsterers in the area that modify seats. i had one that did motorcycle seats along with car seats and regular furniture. he added a jell pack and memory foam and did a little reshaping while i waited. don't remember what it cost....maybe around $75-$100. look around, you might find someone.

IMO, a gel insert won't contribute much in terms of softness to a seat, but rather relieve vibrations on a firm seat. And the LePeras are a bit firm. Call LePera and see if they do what you want, as am sure they will add that gel.
I have the LePera Monterey Solo and am happy with the seat. This and the C&C seat are my favorite for solo riding. I used my C&C on a coast-to-coast trip a couple years ago and was great. I've use the LePera on my FL trips and is great as well.
As mentioned, if you want a bit softer, try an upholsterer or try some of the motorcycle seat modders, like ASTECH Seats. Mean City Cycles won't touch C&C or LePera seats, btw.

I had Astech modify my C&C seat for me. After the seat broke in I have to say it was OUTSTANDING!

Anything close by to do for 3 hours? Prefer walking distance, but a short cab ride would be OK.
The FAQ says they do the mods in 2-3 hrs. Be a nice putt there, and what better way to *break it in* than a 250 mile putt home!
