All modern vehicles draw a small amount of juice and will run a battery flat if left connected. I currently have 5 battery tender Jr. I spend a lot less on batteries nowadays.
Agreed! I also have several tenders and have been using them for 25 years or more. They can considerably extend a battery's life, especially during cold winters. I wouldn't be without them and even my butch Buell is grateful!

Just an update on this. Turns out the battery was not bad, it was a new battery but it had been overfilled by the battery outlet where it was purchased by the dealer who sold me the bike. The battery place refunded me for the battery given I had already replaced it. It was one of their generic house brands. Thankfully the only damage I had was a small hole burned through the bottom of the battery box.
