Default 2004 Ultra Classic rear shocks

Have 93k on 04 Ultra Classic and it seems to keep bottoming out, more so with wife on rear. I have replaced rear shocks with 06 Ultra that were new and now have 40k on them. I'm 70 and ride daily if possible. Can anyone advise me of what I might do, or replace with. Thanks Vondy

I just went through this on my 03 Ultra. I went with Ohlins 2-2b from Motorcycle Metal. I had them set up with 2up comfort as a priority because other than spring preload there are no adjustments. They were set up perfect. The bike floats 2up and holds a line through turns better than I thought was possible for one of our old style bikes.

We're both really happy with the improved ride and handling without a huge hit to the pocket book.

Sit down, grab a drink and use the search function. You'll be able to read until your head hurts. Lots of options in lots of price ranges. IMHO if you've been able to tolerate the stock shocks that long then you'd be more than happy with the #2 series but skies the limit. You'll need to set a budget and work within that.

Happy hunting

Just installed Progressive 444s on my Street Glide. I like them. They seem to tolerate our crappy roads here in Wisconsin. If you ride two up and have a tourpack on, probably better off with the 444 HDs.
