Default Hammock seat & Adjust. Backrest

I have a 2016 Road Glide with an adjustable backrest mount (52596-09A) installed. I just bought a hammock seat (52000003A) and was under the impression that it would work with my backrest mount, WRONG! Rather than sending the seat back I'm considering purchasing the standard backrest mount (52589-09A). Has anyone else had this problem and will the standard mount work?

I have the non-heated hammock, and the standard backrest mount. They work well together. Luckily, when I ordered the hammock my dealer warned me it wouldn't work with the adjustable.

Do a quick search on the forums. Several users have had success with either shimming the adjustable mount or adding an extension and drilling new holes. May have to do it myself as I've been looking at the hammock or tallboy as well.

I answered you at Roadglide.org.

I have a loaner 2016 RGU because my RGS needs some work. The stock ultra seat sucks. I put my hammock seat on it. Works fine.

I did have to put the back rest in the mount and push it to its most rearward position. Install the seat. Add the backrest and adjust as needed.

It fits.

I have a Hammock seat with the adjustable backrest. I shimmed the front backrest bracket with 1/4" bushings. It works real good.

I've got a hammock seat on my 2013 Street Glide. I have the adjustable Mustang backrest. I also swap back and forth to my stock seat. Backrest just pulls out. Bracket stays. Very easy and comfortable.

That's a great trick with the shims. I will try that since I have a 16 Road King with a Hammock seat and want to try the adjustable back rest. Thank you for the trick.

I have a hammock and an adjustable backrest. No shims needed for me.
