Screw fixing it yourself. It's the principle of it. You just paid 20K+ for a new bike. Make the dealer fix it.

Make them fix it. That's more than assembly lube.

My reasoning for the dealer to fix it.

Documented problem, we don't know enough about this bike to say this is an easy fix and probably not fleet, system wide, or the tip of the ice berg.

I am turning in a ( non diesel) 2015 VW passat that has had 6 engine check lights. Over the last 17 months it has been in their shop for 45 days. They have always given me nice loaner and i really have no issues with the dealership. They have changed everything from gas caps, wiring harnesses, the electronic control module etc.

The last time i brought it in, i never mentioned lemon law or anything, they said to me we have tried everything so contact VW and we will send your maintenance records in.

This is a leased car, and the customer service case handler told me since it has been in the shop 45 days we will take back the car and their proposal is to give me back all of my monthly lease payments and are working on a proposal to keep me in the VW program with a lease for the same value car at 2/3 the price.

I wasn't aware of the how many days in the shop over the period of time. But bringing it back to the dealer gets it documented, so that is my recommendation, take it in.

Not knowing what style pushrods the new one have but past experience with harley's stock non adjustables say if the o-ring needs changing it's definitely a warranty issue as the rocker cover would have to come off to remover the push rod.

Don't dick around let them fix it.

If I had that on my brand new bike it would be back to the dealer immediately!
