Motor Mount-Exhaust Vibrations and Wobble?
On the TC88 2006FLHX, how can you tell if the motor mounts are failing and need to be replaced?
I am getting a lot of vibration / front end feels kind ofloosefrom the bike since my 5000 service last week. I can't nail it down, but something doesnt feel right. I've gone over everything I can think of.

RE: Motor Mounts
Replaced the front mount on the Ultra last summer after noticing a "different" vibration. Reached under to give the mount a feel, and all the rubber had vanishedTake a look/feel yourself, and if it "IS" bad.Get it repaired ASAP. This will cause the fairing brackets to snap. Don't ask me how I know[&o]

If your mounts are going bad and their not replace it can damage your pipes.

RE: Motor Mounts
Kern,
Here's how I confirmed mine was bad. If the engine mounting plate, ( triangular piece on the very front of the motor, under the voltage regulator with the hiem joint connected to it ) is sitting down on the rubber, ie no gap between them, it is shot. Mine actualy vibrated less with a broken mount than with the new one, at idle. The thing that made me go looking was that the back end started tracking squrilly on grooves & in curves. Everyone is correct that they had a problem with the "B" series mount in '05 & '06 tourers. Funny thing is this is the same mount thats been used since the early '80s on FXR & FLH/T's. My 20 yr old FXR still had the factory mount @ 30,000 miles. Just replaced the one in the Roadglide 2 days ago @ 6,000. Be aware that the "C" series one that they will replace it with under warranty will vibrate more @ idle.
