2017 Milwaukee Eight New Style Compensator
Saw some pictures today of the new 2017 Milwaukee Eight and noticed that Harley has changed the primary compensator again. I wonder if this one will hold up any better? I'm currently considering buying a Baker compensator buy not convinced it will last any longer then the one I bought last year from Harley?

I seen a close up view of the new ramps, was a little disappointed that there still ruff and not a smooth machine surface, however the new wagon wheel appears to be machined at least on the outside surface. Never could understand the reasoning of whereing in the ramps and putting all the metal in the oil. Hope the new spring pack holds up. Also noticed same old stator wire gromet, at least it's higher up in the case and less motor shake will help too.

Yes, I'm hoping the new compensator will work on 16 and below. My Ultra is an 07

I have never understood the randomness of the comp failures. On my '09, the stock comp died at around 30k miles, and they installed an SE comp under warranty. When I got rid of it at 93k miles, still had no issue with that comp. Now have 45 k on the '14, not a peep out of the comp so far.

The compensator is new, it has a different part # and is currently a protected part. You need a dealer service ticket to get one. Not sure if it's backwards compatible....
It appears they changed the spring pack, the ramp angle, and the thrust washer (which is very similar to the Compensavor thrust washer)....
