Nice work, cant wait to see the dyno #'s. Understanding that you cannot state with any certainty but do you think these will void the warranty? Would love to do this immediately but may have to wait till the warranty period is over.

Of course, if you had an issue with brakes, lights, entertainment system, etc... they probably wouldn't even be noticed...
On my '12, I waited a year & 10K miles. I was content the engine was good to go and put an FM Jackpot 2-1-2 header on my bike. FM makes a really nice head pipe... the welds look very nice. Mine was ceramic coated and it almost seemed a shame to put the heat shields on it!

Here's the kicker for big ron: No, none of those mods will void the warranty. But...but...the bike will need to be tuned. There are no EPA/CARB compliant tuners for '17s that can tune a bike with a cat-free exhaust. And, the instant you tune a '17 with a non-CARB/non-EPA compliant tuner module, your entire powertrain warranty is void. Obviously, 99%+ of owners who are doing these mods couldn't care less about that. If/when I get an M8, I absolutely will change out a/c, exhaust, and more.
And smile while I'm doing it.

Good answer.

That is what I was thinking. Is the standard warranty 1-year or 2-year? I haven't purchased a new bike since 2010 and wasn't sure. I would probably mod immediately but since this is a new powertrain I will probably wait until the warranty has expired.

You may also buy the Extended Service Plan if you wish. But, I assume that once you tune the bike, the powertrain coverage in the ESP would also be gone, so probably wouldn't be money well spent.

As far as warranty, it is going to be up to the the individual dealer. I can also say that we have a list of dealers waiting on M8 head pipes.

Jamie is right, ask your service manager.
Some dealers are much more flexible than others.
My dealer has been wonderful to many people on a host of warranty issues. They say it's no skin off their backs - that cost is paid from on up the line. They say they want the customer happy, to buy, and buy, and buy again. And it works!
Of course, if you travel and something happens out of town, blah, blah, blah...
