cause over here in europe we are much more in to legal performence, and that is why APR is selling big in germany and other places we have loads that do very nice front pipes with racecat that are totally legal and give performence, on the cars there is maybe max 5bhp on a 360bhp car, of course the price is higher but no one would like to be busted by the german tüv on the street. ps. denmark is not strickt on bike´s yet but the non legal don´t ride long trips he he

We will be posting further info in regards to EPA legal components later this fall. The current process for applying for EPA/ARB certification for replacing the catalyst is very comprehensive. To give you an idea on what is involved, the testing for catalyst replacement for a road legal motorcycle requires a 15,000 KM (9300 Mile) drive line test, the test can only be conducted an X amount of miles & hours per day, and if this test is done on the road (rather than a test lab) the route must be approved by the EPA.

We have been testing air cleaner designs on the M8 and just wanted to post some info on the SE Heavy Breather air cleaner. This SE HB was one of our favorite designs on 16-earlier models and was a great power producer. The newest unit for M8 however uses a completely different element and elbow. The element is now eliptical shaped (rather than round) and is slanted forward. Not only is the new element significantly smaller in surface area, when the element is installed the leading edge of the elbow extends well into the filter, covering an area of the media. Besides the lack of performance the other negative we found is this air cleaner emits an annoying hissing sound, enough that everyone that rode the bike commented on.

With all the new A/C units that Harley has on the M8 (the 107 or the 114) as well as the Screamin Eagle heavy breather, its as if they don't want it to breath. Hmmmm.
The exhaust however a bit different. I have found that it truly exhausts mostly on the right side of the bike, makes sense since its larger diameter right pipe, and if you place hand over right side it does not just divert to the left side. Its almost as if they are getting the benefits of a 2-1 system which produce a better power and torque, and not disposing of the look of a 2-1-2 Harley look and sound.

The new HB now works with lowers on where before the HB and HB elite didn't. They did have the stubby filter that did work though.

Does anyone know if I need to do frame mods to fit the ginormus 5 gallon bucket sized jugs from this stage XXIII kit into my bike? Also, will I be able to use the stock AC?

You actually remove the fuel tank and put it where the "tour pack" would be.

The seat is uses new brackets ... you actually sit between the heads... upper frame rail is removed and the front of frame bolts right to front head.

Felt heat for passenger is extreme as they have a suction cup seat that mounts in the back rocker box. (Fortunately the heat has melted the suction cups to the head so no chance of slipping)

Torque curve is extremely flat though...

This is good to know since I was just about to purchase this damn thing! Guess I'll be holding off to see what else there is.

Agreed... Thank you Jamie. You just saved me a few dollars that would have certainly been poorly spent

M8 Jackpot 2/1/2 head pipe with factory heat shields installed. We 3D modeled the stock system and designed the Jackpot pipe for the most precise fitment possible using the stock shields, but more importantly best overall performance and heat reduction.
