Unless, like me, you were already looking for a change.

You can put any cam you want in a 103 but it still won't have the ride and handling of the new 107 models.

I rode my 2016 RGS back-to-back with a 2017 RGS. I found a difference in handling, but thought it slight. To each his own, I suppose.

I'm not knocking the M8 - it IS an improvement. I just didn't find it as night and day as some.

Instead of $1,000's to get the performance where I want it. I hope the motors are reliable.
I thought the new M8 engines were speed restricted to 107mph. Is that inaccurate info?

I knew when I rode one two days after release I wanted one. I wanted one bad. But I also new that dealers would be marking down twin cams to move them. The thought of a 110" TC for less than my M8 cost me was tempting for a minute or two. But there would be much more that I'd be giving up. Much, much smoother. Much better handling. I'm glad I didn't worry about the added expense.
Are you talking about just buying a motor or something??
Is there a dealer selling a previous model new CVO for less than a new model base 107 M8?? That seems hard to believe....

Stock calibration has several tables that govern vehicle speed including fuel cut & throttle disable which come into play at about 107 MPH, regardless of gear.
