I would have to agree, just based on a test ride. I had the new bike up to 115mph and it was still pulling hard. I did not even realize I was going so fast and slowed down right away. The mod I would do is for better (louder) pipes. But no other mods, probably not even a tune. That way I can spend money on chrome or paint that I like. Instead of $1,000's to get the performance where I want it. I hope the motors are reliable.

Did you tune your bike after air cleaner and mufflers?

Alot of people have been asking about the differences and potential of the M8 vs earlier models, we really like the new M8 but there are not big changes in the power department, at least in stock form. The M8 is a great platform with an assortment of improvements over earlier models for sure, however stock vs stock power wise there are not considerable differences between the 107 Milwaukee Eight and the 103 HO Rushmore engine, about 2Hp & 3Tq.

The dyno chart below compares our completely stock 2017 Road Glide Milwaukee Eight vs our completely stock 2015 Road Glide 103 HO. Both tests were done after the dyno break in and were 5th gear runs. (Note 2017 bike hits 107 MPH speed limiter)

So it seems the less shake, better balance and quieter motor leads to more power and speed in riders imaginations only.

Default Fuel Moto numbers

I find it hard to believe the 2 engines are running that close on dyno runs, the actual real world difference is pretty noticeable from riding both back to back. And so far everyone i know that has taken a test ride felt the same. This is not a post doubting FM its just a post that its hard to imagine they run that close on numbers.

I saw a 114" stock on the dyno. Stock was about 107 tq. A 110" with a stage one is close to those numbers, just imagine was a good tune will do to the 114". I'm very impressed!

I ran the SE Street Cannons with no tuning device and did not notice any type of lean conditions normally associated with that. No codes were displayed on the ECM. When I changed air cleaners to the Ventilator, I installed a Nightrider FL-VIED-10 on the bike after talking to Steve who owns the company. I set it at 50% initially. I did get lean codes front and rear at that setting. He suggested I cut it back to 25% and try that. He said the codes appear due to voltage changes but lean conditions do not actually exist. After adjusting the VIED to 25% and clearing the codes, it was fine. No light, no codes. I'll continue to ramp it up a bit at a time. Bike runs great. Anyone who judges this new platform by dyno sheets alone is doing themselves a GROSS disservice. Take one out and actually ride it to make that decision, better yet ride it along with a friend who's riding a standard 103. I pull away easily from them and it is NOT my imagination as golfblues suggested, he apparently has NOT ridden one.

No gunny I haven't ridden one. Just looking at the dyno numbers and they are too close to be much different in the real world but even if I rode one I wouldn't know as I haven't been on a 103 yet. My buddy has one but he's done so much work on it it's a rocket ship now. My 96 has cams but it's apples to oranges.

Look at the torque curves..... while they are eventually only 3.4 lb ft difference, the M8 engine is a bunch more up to 3K rpm and the 103 doesn't get close until almost 3.5K rpm.

That's where most people ride and will give a very different seat-of-the-pants feel.....

Dyno sheets aren't everything.....

I can't wait to see what FuelMoto gets from the M8 with a few of their tunes.....
