When you get done with the new exhaust testing can you please put up a short video/ sound clip? Would really like to hear what this new motor can actually sound like. At least over the quiet stock exhaust sound.

Your opinion of what "appears to you", based on other people's postings, does not make it "fact".

Thanks.
The M8 uses an improved crankshaft design and the drive assembly on the output shaft has been significantly improved as well, this should help overall reliability

We are currently using pre-production mufflers (unfinished), once we have finished components we will surely do some videos and compare them to stock and several other brands on both the stock and Jackpot head pipes.

Thanks.
The crankshaft design is basically the exact same-thing as the twin cam! The crank pin and rod bearings are increased in size but that isn't enough different to call it greatly improve or even a slightly improved, IMHO. Bearings on each end of the crankshaft are of the exact same design as the Twin Cam too. Since the M8 engine are all counter balanced engines you could say there is an improvement over a "B" Twin cam engine that used a counter balance. The new counter balance shaft is gear driven instead of chain driven as before but there is going to have to be some serious time put on this engine to say whether or not it is any better. That still is not part of the crankshaft design though. So in a nut shell you have the same design as before with all the same possible design issues as before just with a larger diameter crank pin.

Here's an initial review on the 2017 Milwaukee Eight 107" Road Glide by Bob M. one of Fuel Moto's product specialists:
"I am really impressed with the 2017 Touring bikes overall. I will say the thing I like the best is new valving of the front forks. The upgrade really keeps the front end planted and it can handle big bumps better than the earlier bikes. The new Milwaukee 8 motor is a nice improvement as well. It is a very smooth platform with the addition of the counter balancer. The motor does sound different than the Twin Cam and I am not talking about exhaust note. I hear what I feel is the gear driven counter balancer. I do have to admit; I was not a fan of the sound of a gear drive cam in a Harley or an Oldsmobile. Torque delivery is very nice, very smooth and I do feel it is an improvement over the Twin Cam stock vs stock. I rode our 2017 Road Glide stock and with a prototype muffler upgrade and the improvement is about the same as one would get from the same upgrade on the Twin Cam. In the end, I cannot wait to see what potential we can bring out of this new platform." Bob M.

How will the 2017+ models effect our options to tune? I am reading of EPA regulations are getting very tight; including emission testing starting 2018 models. Can Jamie or Bob from FM confirm anything? Myself I have the 15 RGS with PV2 and D&D 2-1 and high-flo cleaner kit. I feel my bike runs better than stock. Anyone feel free to chime in.
