I leave the white washers on and I do not mess with the bib.

About to post an install question myself, bit different from your though....For your install, remove the harley nuts, but leave the white plastic "washers" that sit at the base of those threaded posts. First, put the Mustang fender big over the threaded posts, then put the black nylon washers over each post, then put the seat on and gently fit the metal tabs on the back of your seat over the threaded posts, after that put the chrome washers over the metal posts, then put the Chrome "nuts" that Mustang provided.....install done, enjoy the solo seat!!!

We have strict QC regarding the contents of the install packets. If you are ever missing any hardware from your install packet, call Mustang at (800) 243-1392. We can either drop the parts in the mail (takes a few days), or help you source them locally if they're cheap enough (but you can get them that day).

Can the Mustang install hardware be used for other brand seats? I too got a used solo seat and no hardware included. Its a LePera Bare Bones seat.

I'd recommend contacting LePera and verifying what you need before purchasing parts. Every manufacturer has slightly different specs, and while Mustang's hardware would probably "work" it might not be ideal for another seat.

I know this is an old thread, but it saved the day for me. The instructions that came with my Mustang Solo seat didn't say to remove the Harley factory nuts. I didn't want to take off something I wasn't supposed to. With the factory nuts on, the bolts were way too short. Something not right.

So, I came on here and did a search, and BOOM.....here's my answer. With pictures!!!!

You guys are the best. Thanks Harley forum and thanks for the replies from the members and Mustang Seat Co, from years ago.
