Hi thinking of installing an Enforcer wheel on my 07SG. I have read that when installing the Brembo calipers this can be done. However, my question is why should the old calipers be replaced by Brembo's?

- Are the rotor on the Enforcer wheel floating rotors? Then it's clear to me and do I have to find a set in the classifieds area.
- is it because of the size of the rotors? Then, can the old rotors be mounted on an Enforcer? Or even better can I machine the Enforcer rotors to the correct size so that they will pair with my non Brembo calipers.

Machining is not the problem for me and if possible this would be the best option, although when the discs are floating I guess I can't go without the Brembo's.

The Enforcer rotors are a larger diameter than your 07 rotors (11.8 vs 11.5), but the stock ones are not floating. Later model Brembo calipers are a bolt on. The rotor bolt diameter is different too, so your existing 07 rotors won't bolt up. I can't answer your machining question, sorry.

Anyone who knows a little bit more. Hogpro maybe? Most important is to be sure the rotors are not floating.

If any specialists, what would be the problem with machining the rotors? Of course used rotors will be machined over the whole surface to make them flat/ the same thickness. I will never exceed the minimum thickness, so that should not be the case. Maybe the braking pads will not cover the whole rotor braking surface.

 

people have used 11.5" rotors in place of 11.8" when they first came out, so I think they have the same bolt pattern. stainless rotors are hard to machine - but if you have the capability, it shouldn't be a problem to reduce the diameter to fit.

 

I'll measure mine when I get home, I don't thing the bolt circle is the same

 

From what I have found so far they will not match. It seems that the pattern of the enforcer and agitator are the same. As I've read you did the caliper change as well. What is needed for that? Did you stock lines fit the new brembo's?

I have just one person found that machined the rotors to 11.5" (from the 11.8"). Should 0.3" really make such a difference in braking performance?

I know that braking performance will be increased when changing to brembo calipers, but is replacing braking lines and master cilinder required as well? I definately want to go the cheapest, but safe way.

 

I put Enforcers on my (since sold) 06 I did NOT have to change brake lines Some say they did ?? The stock (non Brembo) MC will work But the Brembo MstrCylndr works better ! One of the easiest mods I had ever done once I got the all parts together Everything bolted right up( Axel(25mm)/spacers/Calipers//wheel & rotors & later MstrCylndr) PM me if you need help !!!

 

I bought take off calipers on eBay and used the stock M/C and brake lines. Something you're not taking into account is wheel bearings, which are 25mm, vs your stock axle size of 1 inch. You can either change the bearings, or get a 25mm axle and new wheel spacers. I'm sorry, but I got busy and forgot to measure them but I'm quite sure the rotors are not interchangeable.

 

I mounted the rotors solid when I put the wheel on my Evo because there were clearance issues with the rotor bolt heads and the back of the caliper mount. I did have to take some material off the top of the bolt heads and caliper.

 

Thanks for the advice. At the end I decided to go for a 21" made by Ultima which was pretty cheap. Hope I won't regret. At least I have something different the the standard for just some extra costs. I would be sure that within a few years I would look for 21's again so decided to take the shortcut and ordered one instead of spending buck on a 19".
