Air suspension valve on an 03 Road King Classic
Hey everyone, I did a quick search but did not find anything on this. This ride is pretty new for me so I have not tried adjusting the air suspension until tonight. Well the valve is soo short that my air pressure guage nor my two compressors are able to depress the pin to add or remove air.
Has anyone else had this issue, or have a fix for it?
Thanks as always

That's HD's proprietary crap. I had the same problem. Any guage or pump wich was not designed for this valve stem will more than likely not work. In a way, it's a good thing because you shouldn't use a regular compressor to fill these shocks. I have been told it will destroy the shocks bladder and/or seals. I bought an aftermarket hand pump designed to work. I would not allow myself to purchase HD's pump.

I had the same problem. The hd pump will work perfectly, but I didn't want to but it. I just removed the valve, filled and adjusted it, and put it back on. I used a hand held bicycle pump, and a tire gauge. There isn't a lot of air in there, so know that when checking the level with a tire gauge, you will loss some air quickly. I just kinda winged it, and all has be fine, to date.

i bought/use the HD hand pump w/ the built in gauge. For 30$ or so..its not too bad of a price for convienence. Even the aftermarket one that i found locally cost 5$ more than the HD one.
Defilately dont want to connect a traditional air compressor to the valve. Since the rear shocks are a max of 35 psi and the front shocks (on a 2001 & earlier) are 25 psi max. It would not be good to 'blow' the shocks by adding air so forcefully as with a compressor. Of cource the bicycle pump should work ok.

WOW, I guess that is typical, them f'n us again for a "special" pump when my bicycle pump should work just fine. All we really need is a valve extender or something like that not an entire pump. I will do some googling and see what I can come up with.
