Now to find what I'm looking for...

I think the 19" will be too big for me. The roads around here aren't the best and I'll need a bit more tire to absorb the bumps. Anyone have a 2010-13 RG or SG that doesn't need their wheels? Haha

The rolling diameter of the 16", 17", 18" and 19" front wheels are all very similar, as the reduced sidewall maintains OD. They all also use 130mm wide treads, so any differences are likely to be marginal IMHO. A 19" will have less air volume to act as a cushion, especially when compared with a 16". I prefer the style and look of the 18" wheel myself, so have an SG of that size on my '90 Glide.

19" diameter is same as 18" diameter, same as 16". Any difference would not be noticeable. I have 19" Enforcer take offs on 2011 RK. The front 19" does look a little thin given the width of RK front fenders. Lowering the fender helps quite a bit. The pic posted has the fender lowered. The front view, tire does look a little thin. No one notices though.

My previous bike had 18" wheels and imo, that is the best all around size. Good sidewall and nimbler handling in the twisties compared to 16's. 18" airstrikes are very cheap. I have seen wheels with tires go for $250 on criagslist. Despite that, I would not trade my Enforcers for an 18" :-)

Be sure to match bearings with your bike, non-abs or abs.

I went with the 17" because I had practically new tires on my bike. I would have gone 18" or Enforcers otherwise. Decisions, decisions. Good luck with it, not matter what you do you can't go wrong.

I think any HD wheel can be fitted to any Harley; the OP should be able to find a direct bolt on set if he looks for the right wheel.

I put a set of 18" Airstrike wheels from a late model Street Glide on my old '02 FLHT; bought two fronts and converted one for the rear. Had to change bearings and trim spacers but the swap was not difficult. Changing to the wider rear wheel allowed me to squeeze a 150mm tire under the rear fender to replace the 130mm tire and the bike handles much better with 18" wheels front and back.

If you want enforcers, no. But when I purchased new wheels, my OEM ones became dust collectors. I was just getting ready to sell them on EBay. 18" front 16" rear

Is changing out the wheels something I can do myself? I don't have the tools to change tires so I'll have to farm that out to a mechanic, but I'd like to be able to at least remove them from the bike on my own to save some cash. Does someone have a quick link to a thread on it? Or is it really not worth the trouble?

If you buy a pair of bare wheels like those above you need to swap over your rotors and rear pulley from your current wheels, after swapping tyres or fitting new ones. You will need new screws and to torque them correctly. I recommend you buy a factory service manual if you decide to go ahead yourself, there is stacks of useful info that you will need. There may well be videos etc on-line, but there is no substitute for the book by your elbow!

Talking Street Glide wheels

The street glide wheels are indeed 16 rear and 18 front . Looks fine under the front mudguard , think the street glides mudguard is same width anyway. Haven't noticed a big difference in ride height from the saddle but definitely more ground clearance for the foot boards in the bends. I suppose it doesn't take much of a height increase to give you a little more lean angle. As My Roadking was ABS and the bike the wheels came off was also ABS they really just went straight on.

Prob best mod I have done to the bike. :-)

I have 18" front, 16" rear SG Airstrike wheels for sale. only 2,805 miles on the Dunlop American Elite tires, 5.2x mm left on the rotors (4.5mm is minimum). ABS bearings, 12,000 miles on the wheels.

Changing the wheels isn't too hard.

The 17" CVO rear wheel (Agitator) and tire is about an inch overall taller than the 16" Airstrike wheel/tire combo.
