Hell.My wife helps Me with My mods. She helped Me pull wires for the DTT install with Her little hands. She never bitches about what I spend on the bike as long as I don't push the issue on high dollar things to much. She loves the bike as much as I do and chrome is her favorite color. She's one in a million and she aint going nowhere.

You are a very lucky guy, Harley. We've got three bikes in our garage and my wife doens't have a clue which belongs to me. She knows I like to work on mine but doesn't pay any attention to what I'm doing. While I'd like for her to like the bike and ride (she won't), at least she allows me to do my thing and that ain't all bad. Still, I envy anyone who has a wife who enjoys the hobby with him.
My wife rode behind me for 89,000 miles then decided she wanted to try it for herself. She now has her own 2004 Sporty 1200 custom and loves it. And she helps install the new things on both bikes. Never has questioned anything spent on the bikes since she got her own. Who could ask for more?

Ride Safe,

Mike

I learned my lesson last winter about hiding bike expenses from her. She overheard me talking to my buddy about going to the chromer to pick stuff up to the tune of about $350.00. Never seen her so darn mad. I paid dearly for that, had to hand her $350.00 to spend on HERSELF just to make peace. Nowadays I get "clearance" ahead of time. Luckily, it's almost always granted!

While I often think to myself "I wish my wife had her own bike" but then I think "If she did we would be competing for the extra cash to buy things for our bikes". Two bike with two riders could add up fast...lol...

You guys are killing me! I just read these out loud and me and my wife just laughed and laughed. Gman, your reply just was too much! To those of you who have a wife that loves it as much as you do, I say Praise the Lord and thank God for wives that put up with the hardships of the road for those special moments together when the pieces all come together - you all know about those moments when the road, the scenery, the evening sun, and the cool air almost bring a tear to your eye and make every penny (spent with or without her knowledge!) worth it all.
I am so thankful for my wife and for her love for our Harley She's never said "no" to a purchase, including chrome controls when we bought it. I told her it was like a $700 option installed, and she said "if we don't put it on now, will you ever put them on for that price?" She was right!
But in the end, I'd ride alone if I had to. I love it too much to give it up. And like AtkWRC, we ain't wealthy either, just blessed.
Ride safe, guys... alone or with your sweethearts!

My wife knows when I get a new do-dad for the scoot. She usually gets the mail or the delivery notices from the PO so I always know when my stuff arrives. She tells me I have presents. And she always wants to see after I install. If she is not sure what I did then I see if she can pick it out. Sometimes she gets it, and other times not.

i love my wife for all the stuff she has done fo rme and the bike. i couldnt have got it without her. i would say that darn near all the parts on "our" bike SHE BOUGHT. she loves it. i do ask for the parts or money lets say. i hate to say it but she controls the money. but on the other hand i love it, no stress for me at all. but anything that i want for the bike i get.
i am not really trying to start a "wife" post but sometimes they need to be thanked for being there and supporting our "habit"

I'm lucky as well, I have a great wife. We each pay our shares of the bills and have our own spending money. She could care less what I spend it on as long as the bills get paid.

Wife realizes its an escape from the kids for just me and her. Now all I hear is hurry up and get home so we can go for a ride. She's definitely got he bug. Everytime I'm at the dealer for somethin, she's over there sittin on a sporty. Taught her to ride on one nearly twenty years ago, although she hasn't riden since. Me thinks the day is comin when I'll have to get her her own.

And yes, I always get her to check out the low cost parts!

Lucky to havean ezzzzz angel.
