West Virginia
Hey guys, I thinking about a trip to WV with 4 other couples. Looking for ideas on a landing spot with good rides somewhat close by. I've never been to that area but have heard the roads and scenery are very good. Thanks in advance, Jim. By the way what kind of oil do you use? Sorry, I just read a long oil post and really enjoyed it. Lol. Seriously looking for WV ideas.😎

Me & the Mrs. and another couple took a vacation in WVA on the bikes a couple years ago. I'll see if I can dig my map out with all the roads we covered.
New River Gorge and Seneca Rock jump in my head right off the bat though.
I'll see what I can find (or remember).
How soon are you going?

We stay in Marlinton at Old Clark Inn. http://oldclarkinn.com/...
but have also been to Iron Road Inn http://ironroadinn.com/
Much of the area near Green Bank Radio Telescope is without Cell phone connection (all the more reason to go)
http://visitwv.com/trip-tools/motorcycle/ that ought to get you started.... contact the locals... if you are a member of any organization (HOG SCRC etc) for guided tours... great folks, great roads

I have been going to West Virginia 4 out of the last 5 years. The riding is incredible and I never get tired of it. It is one of my all time favorite riding destinations.
I highly recommend basing out of the Snowshoe Mtn. area (20 miles north of Marlinton) and getting this Motorcycle Touring Map. The rides on this brochure are simple to follow and worth every twist and turn. I have done them all and most many times.
Pocahontas County is an awesome area to ride.
Be advised though, that area is a "no cell phone" area because of the Greenbank Radio Telescope but it is worth every "no cell phone access" moment just to be there.
