I just got my new FLTRU on 7/20, and I asked about the clutch situation, and the sales dude said it was already taken care of, so hopefully I won't get the dreaded letter ...

Got a call tonight from the sister store we bought the bike from asking if they could pick up the just purchased 16 slim s and take it to there store tomorrow morning, she said they had a truck coming down and had one empty spot in a 4 bike trailer if we wanted to let them pick it up they would fix it and trailer it back to us by early next week. We live in between the two dealerships 60 miles to the one we bought the bike from and about 92 miles from the one that is picking it up. Not sure what to make of this?
Most be a bigger problem then i thought, the only thing I can't understand is how is this still a problem? They fixed the issue on my 2015 two years ago right?

Took my 2016 RGS in for the 1k service and was told at check in that it had a recall to be taken care of. Service writer said the bike had to be left there for a few days to perform the recall. I asked what it was all about and he explained it was the clutch recall. Because I wasn't able to leave it at that time, I scheduled to drop it a few days later. In the mean time, I wanted to find out more about the recall.

I logged onto the HD website and entered my VIN... "NO" open recalls??? So I called HD customer support. Gave them the VIN and they said "NO" open recalls - WTF!?!? So I explained the dealer had just informed me of the open recall for the clutch. The HD rep stated she wanted to put me on hold and check further with someone else just to make sure. She came back on the line and said it did appear my VIN "WAS" going to be included in the recall.

Because of the nature of this recall, if you are unsure if your bike is or is not involved, EVEN IF the VIN check doesn't show it is, may be a good point to do a more thorough check.

how about putting a cable back on the damn bike ? how many of these new clutchs are going to go bad as the bike gets older and out of warrenty ? then's it's on the owners dime.

No thanks, I don't want to go back.
For every bike having isses, there are hundreds or thousands that are not.

You might want to do away with your electric starter too. LOL

I have a 14 Limited and HD extended the factory warranty on the clutch for an additional 2 years.

If it has bubbles in clutch master cylinder, its off to the Dealer which I kind of dread. If my bike was assigned to a experienced technician,I wouldn't worry. But usually this inspection process gets handled by the guy just above the janitor in the service dept. because its more profitable and doesn't take a qualified techs. time away from other jobs.Of course, if bike doesn't pass inspection, a more skilled tech.will proceed with the rest of the recall.Just my thoughts and fears on Dealer service depts. and this particular recall.
Got the same lowdown from my dealer. Said it had something to do with the lubricants used in the clutch system degrading a seal, causing bubbles. But what the hell do I know, I have zero mechanical ability. Not too worried about it. But I always have their master tech do all service on my bikes, he is the only one allowed to even push my bike into the service area. The service manager honors this and has no problem with it at all. By the way, I do a "pop in" once in a awhile just to make sure Anthony is the only one who has his hands on my bike. Yep, I am pretty controlling with regard to my ride. But I guess my dealer tolerates me, that is why I always go there.

Dropped mine off on Thurs and picked it up yesterday afternoon.
After the 24 isolation, nothing needed to be done.
