I have less than 2k miles on this bike. to my knowledge I have never needed ABS. Went for a ride today non abs bike, and did not come to a skid either. Hundreds thousand miles will go by without locking up brakes

It’s not a bad idea to know this, so you can tell if they are engaging in normal riding. Which would let you know you are overriding the conditions.

I have a 2019 FLHTCUTG with ABS, Traction control and the other BS nanny stuff. Thought about buying a scanner; however, not cost effective for me as it would be once every two years.
I have enough other auto scanners, VOMs, and testers in my tool box that I do not need another one laying in there that will get minimal use.
I flush and bleed the brakes, then take it to my dealer who cycles the ABS with the HD Digital Technician, then run what is left in the brake fluid can through the system.
Dealer charges me 15 minutes of labor ($35.00), service manager said it takes them longer to hook it up than to run the ABS cycling procedure.
Have a long and good relationship with my dealer and they know I work and maintain my bike to HD standards.

I use the ITM HD2 tool. Quick and easy.
By the way, as has been mentioned before, anyone who has ABS and hasn't experienced it, get up to 30 - 40 MPH without anyone behind you (big parking lot or back road) and jam the brakes on HARD. You'll experience the amazing braking possible with your Harley AND learn some skills that could save you some day.
These big 'ole pigs stop in a HURRY in a straight line under hard ABS assisted braking. It's a great feeling.
