I have same. I assume it's the vent system and open filter. I need to add vent lines and route below......too lazy. So I just wipe my bike down every week. Well, just the one side. Lol!

I have a Ness Big Sucker, and running mine 1/2 quart low does indeed help, but at extended high rpm operation (like hours spent on the interstate) it still pukes oil. It's not a problem otherwise.

I have seen a bag that you put on the end of each breather tube to collect the oil. It sounds viable as running a tube down past your frame possibly means oil on your rear wheel and possibly your brakes. I too, only see oil in the filter when running excessive speeds for an extended period of time.

I re routed the crankcase breather tubes using vacuum line fittings and vacuum line and ran them outside the air filter housing, tucked it in the nearest opening and wire tied it to the frame. In my mind it makes absolutely no sense to force hot oil soaked air into your air cleaner and throttle body. A crankcase needs to breathe but not there!

Tell that to the EPA. They want it in your air cleaner and throttle body instead of the atmosphere.

Does anyone have detailed pictures or a link that would show the correction (reroute) of the tube. I too don't like to run a 1/2 quart low and also don't like the oil mess. Looking for the fix.
Thanks in advance, Be Safe JIM

A half a cup is four ounces. Doesn't seem to make sense to me to do all this rerouting for four ounces. Still blowing off extra oil.

Good Lord don't do that!! pose that question in the search bar and read what everyone's done to eliminate that. There are many variations but eventually your going to need to address the Blow-by being inhaled into your throttle body. This is how I handled it.
