Sounds like a great bike.
Note:An independent will very likely give you a better tire deal than a dealer, check the monthly motorcycle news papers in your area.

I would get new tires, battery, belt and fluids if you decide to get the bike. The price is ok but you could negotiate it down to cover the costs of the maintenance.

The miles do not make me suspicious - theres a lot of guys who go around the block a lot...

6000.00 seems fair
NJ underwater - been reading too many magazines. unless this bike was down the shore, there no issue as all those bikes were totaled

My advice - I have 2 indys that I use -
Mayhem Cycles on RT1 - Chris is an awesome builder / mechanic and he's reasonable
in South Brunswick. I just did 2 tires and a full service for about 700.00

Motorcycle center on rt18 in East Brunswick - Franco is one of the best wrenches around.

Here in SoCal I can get tires and a Deka battery out the door installed for under $500.00 (independents and an order through the internet). I think you've made a sound deal on a future of good riding. Consider a Pingel Wheel Disc ($ 45.00) so you can run the '03-and-up back tire without modifications for shorter braking distance and longer tire life, better comfort, etc. And don't let anyone tell you this era of bike is a lesser model - I keep up with the 103s without issue!

Bring it to, or bring your mechanic with you to look it over if you're not comfortable doing so by yourself - that is where you will get your best opinion of condition - you have to decide on what you're willing to pay for it & the Seller what he is willing to sell it for....

For the price, I think you did great. Its a real beauty, that's for sure. It MAY cost you a few bucks on some dried up parts, but really, should be a nice bike for you to enjoy. Congrats.

My RK is on a truck on its way from FLA. Swore I'd never buy a vehicle without seeing it in person again . . .

Default The old girl is home!!!

Thank you all for the advice and input. I picked her up yesterday afternoon and spend sometime crawling around and cleaning her up. Bike really is in great shape and I am very very happy with it.

That's a great looking King you got there. It doesn't look 16 years old! I notice slip-ons, nostalgic bag rails, backrest and luggage rack, chrome footboard covers. Was all that with the bike? That's got to be at least a grand. Nice color also. Smoking deal!
