Looking at an 08 RK Bagger
Hey all, been reading up on these forums and decided I think on a bike, hoping you can give me some advice as my knowledge is nil.
/EDIT: The bike is actually a 2007. I misspoke.
I'm looking at a custom 2007 Road King
22500 on the bike, 5100 on the 113 upgrade. Here is the list:
HD 4.060 kit
SE Pro Cases
Dark Horse Crank, welded and trued
110 Heads
Fueling oil pump
Cam plates
Woods Cams
Thunder max ECM auto tune
Zippers 54mm throttle body
Pro Clutch
Baker +1 oil pan
Baker bagger brace
Hide a bolt fluted front chrome lowers ?
Timkin bearing in lower end
Orange/white paint job
Hard bags
Guy wants 13,000 for it. It's absolute lowest he will go. I know stock I could get an 08 for around 8, 9 grand. Is this worth it? I'd end up doing a similar setup to a stock, am I saving good money buying this one?

I wouldn't want a bike that's had all that done to it. Who knows how well the work was done?
I'd take that 13,000, add a few more, and buy either:
1. A late model STOCK bike
or
2. A '16 closeout (should be good discounts when the 2017's are announced)
or
3. A '17 with the Milwaukee 8 motor …

07 is the first year for the 6 speed so that bike has it. It also has 6 gallon fuel capacity and throttle by wire. With that kind of work I would feel much more comfortable if I could talk to whoever built the engine. Those are decent parts but the assembly is critical. I'm not big on the 09 and up being a better frame. 14 and up yep.

I agree with what has been said.
If I were you I would only buy this bike IF I could talk to the shop that did all the work. Don't just believe the seller, remember he is trying to "sell" you on how great his bike is.
I have lost track of the upgrades I have done to my SG and would never think I could get my money back if I tried to sell it but all my work was done by 1 race shop so any potential buyer could talk to them and not just take my word for it.

The engine mods don't scare me. Those are high quality engine parts on that list. Somebody knew what they were doing. But the reality is those parts don't add that much value to the bike.
It is a beautiful bike, that's for sure. But it is way over priced. Modifications don't add much value to a Harley unless they come from the factory. And that is an older frame model which holds down the value even more. Since the modifications are in good taste, $10,000 would be my highest offer.
You could find a lot newer bikes with some stage 1 mods for $13,000. You will likely even find a couple Rushmores if you are patient.
Be patient and look around. I would be very very surprised if he sells the bike for near that price. In the end, he will take $10,000. But even at the price, I would still rather have a used Rushmore for $13,000.
