Damn,thanks. Just goes to show you, things you thought you knew should be re-visited once in awhile. Service manual DOES say DOT 5.

Thanks everyone for the help, much appreciated! Because of the water test I can be sure it has DOT 4 in the front so im going with that. When I get home today I need to pull the lid on back brake M/C and do the same test and see what I have in there. I'll report back, thanks.
