I had an issue with my front brake lever going all the way to my throttle control and at that point it would cause a full lock up. Found somebody on YouTube with the same problem. Turned out the brake dust clogged up my callipers causing the problem I was having. With a can and a half of brake clean I have a brake lever that works as a matter fact better than it ever did. So for anyone with the same problem grab a can or two of brake clean for your callipers off and spray the hell out of them and it worked for me .

 

Needing to clean the outside of the caliper pistons is generally part of the basic brake service but can need to be done sooner than when pads needs to be replaced.

I am glad you got your issue fixed without to much cost or any type of mishap, also a good reminder to start simple when troubleshooting one can always spend big money later.
