Default Help! LED Lights

2012 Limited

Installed LED Truck lights, headlight and passing lamps over the weekend, they are the only LED lights on the bike. Riding to work this morning, my dash starts to light up, left turn signal indicattor is flashing randomly, red key light is flashing randomly....my first inclination is i need a load equalizer..But, it worked all weekend and these are the only LED light i have...Leaving for a trip Thursday...any idea? Thanks

Are you running the passing lights on all the time? Not sure how they'd be tied into the blinkers.

The red key light may be a bigger issue. Scan your ECM or get it scanned.

You only need the equalizer if you do LED turn signals. You probably dorked the wiring to the headlight or passing lamps.

Headlight and Passing are plug and play, at least mine were... And they are very bright... Problem is likely somewhere else, maybe a pinched wire.

There was a video out there talking about turning the emergency blinkers on for the bike to calibrate. I don't know if this on the newer bikes or not? Or even how that works? Anybody else hear/read/or see this video?

I am looking at the plug and play Custom Dynamics for the LED upgrades myself.

I put those same lights on my 11 Limited and didn't have any issues, no load balancer or anything special. Be sure to make sure your battery connections are clean and tight, that can cause strange issues.

This is only done when you change the signal lights out to LEDs, and only on the newer bikes with the canbus system. Should be 2014 and newer I believe.

It's done to correct the flash rate once the signal lights have been changed from incandescent to LED.

Should have nothing to do with the headlight or passing/driving lights.

Came out after work and the bike worked just fine. I did go back home and check the work i had done over the weekend to make sure all the grounds were secure checked the battery, etc...all things that should be done before a trip...Thanks for getting me past the notion that i needed a load equalizer..
