Most I have ever done in a day 600 miles from my house to Daytona beach. That's about all I would care to do in one day.

 

I am a fit 61 year old as well. 600 miles should be no problem. We routinely do two 600 mile days from our house (KY) to Rapid City. As others have said, stay hydrated. There is lots of daylight and I would rather be riding than sitting in a motel. Have a great trip!

 

Last year three of us hit the Interstate. We left Cumberland MD. one morning and rolled into Cheyenne WY the next evening about 10:00. About 800 miles each day. Wasn't too bad but we have ridden long and hard before. We had the same idea - to get through the midwest and enjoy ourselves once we got into WY. Do as much as you are comfortable with and stop for the night. Safe travels.

 

A friend of mine left around the first week of this month on a solo 3 week road trip. She headed out from Daytona and rode 800 miles the first day. Her turn around point was somewhere in Montana.

At a little over 5 foot and a hundred pounds or so, she's one of the hardest core bikers I've meet.
