Default Any new info regarding death wobble with 21 front?

Before I get slammed for not using the search function first in order to research this I did and seen some disturbing info regarding the death wobble using 21 front and 18/200 rear. I wanted to know if there was any new information/experiences with this with the new Glides coming with the 19/16 combo.

I am scheduled to pick up my new '16 FLHX this Friday. I like the look of a bigger front wheel, but I want this bike to be a rider and not a wagon wheel bar hopper. I know the front wheel is a 19, but there is just something about it that makes it look "out of place" small. Maybe it is the dink front fender or the backdrop of that wide @$$ engine guard. I don't know but it just looks like there isn't enough side wall on it for me.

I have been kicking around the idea of doing the Fat Baggers drop frame kit, but the correspondence with FBI has been less than stellar so I am kind of on the fence with that. Was thinking of doing the 21 front 18 rear; dropping the rear an 1" with the Progressive 944's, dropping the front an 1" with the progressive tubes. Or forego the 21 front and put a 140 tire on the 19 wheel up front.

Anyway, looking for any new info with this.

I have a friend with this exact config - 21 front with monotubes, 180 rear with 944s, having bad wobble problems at speeds 75+

I'll be watching this one.

Why go 18 in the back?

Dunno. 1" drop with 18" wheels in back...and on a FLHX. It's already 1" lower than your standard touring bike. You might get back some room between the rubber and fender with a low profile tire, but the ride is gonna suffer.

We’ve set up plenty of the new Street Glides with a 21” front with a 17” or 18” rear without issue.

You shouldn’t have wobble and, if you do, there’s definitely something underlying going on. Outside of that, I don’t recommend that you lower a bike before you’ve actually ridden it. Put the new wheels on, try it, then lower it if you’re not happy.

Also, since you are planning to lower it, go with a 180 on the 18”, not the 200.

Feel free to give me a call at 888-926-2793 x 132 if you want to discuss this further!

I'm running a 21" wheel up front - stock rear wheel
Went with stock height Legend AXEO front end
13" JRI rear shocks
Absolutely zero wobble issue.

I know everyone wants that look cool factor by lowering their bike - but I went the other way to get the clearance with the 4.5" extended bags....

I run a 21x3.5 front and a 17x6 rear with a 200 and no issues at all with wobble. The bike has stock rear suspension for now and the Harley Low front cartridge setup, the ride is decent.

I plan on keeping the 180 in the rear. I was thinking that a 21/18 lowered an 1" all around would serve the purpose of giving me more lean angle and clearance for stretched rear fender and bags in the future. Worried that if I went 21 with stock 16, front end would be too high to lower with anything out there; ie Monotubes, springs, etc.

Its counter intuitive, but I think lowered gives you *less* lean angle.
