Ovals too Loud for Me...Need Quiet Exhaust

I put a set of new take-offs on my '08 and have been pleased with them. You can get them from $0-60 depending on dealers. I ended up getting a set from a dealer in Dallas.
The 15-16 oem mufflers are a little different internally than the '08 ones. I think they make the engine pull a tad better. Considering they were designed for the HO103 and a catalytic converter, they have good back pressure and flow. I also have them with the FM micro tuner and a k&n air filter.

I had those before I switched to the E-Series. Loudest muffler I've ever had on my bike. Well not loud maybe, but they had a terrible drone to them. Sounded good at idle, and when you hammered on it they were good and loud. Pretty quiet just cruising along, but hit a little grade where you have to give it just a touch of fuel and they sound terrible. It would drive you nuts after about 3 or 4 hours. Oh, I've got a SE 255 cam in my bike and it was suggested that might be the reason mine were a little more loud and annoying than those on a stock bike.

Love the mellow tone of my Khrome Werks Performance Touring Mufflers.
I tried both baffles. The quiet were almost equal to stock. I think the performance baffle is perfect.
I love the sound of S&S SPO mufflers but they were more than I wanted to spend.

If we all liked the same thing it wouldn't be any fun! Ride safe.

I have the Screamin Eagle Street Cannons on my 15' limited and they are perfect in my opinion. Pretty quiet at idle, but have a nice sound when you give it some throttle. I have done some long rides with them(primarily with a half helmet) and they are ideal. For my 97' FXSTC, I had V&H Big Shots and they were super loud. Because I was having a sidecar put on the bike, I had to change the pipes(way too loud for passenger). So, at the advice of many forum members, I went with Supertrapp Supermegs. Perfect, once more! Good luck with your decision.
