Just saw this come across the news feeds involving 430,000 Harleys. Please take a moment to check your ABS modules and fluids.

"The trouble appears to lie with the brake fluid, which some owners apparently aren't changing as they should every two years. According to the documents, "owners are either unaware of or ignore" the requirement.
The old fluid can become contaminated by moisture and may be corroding the anti-lock brake system's actuator valves. If it does, the valves won't work."
"The problem is believed linked to a module that's part of Harley's ABS system that can corrode and fail without warning. Usually, only the front or rear brakes won't work. But in one case, both systems gave out, resulting in a low-speed crash into a garage door, NHTSA reports in a filing."

I wonder how many people actually read their owners manual? But my other question is how many dealers actually bring up changing the brake fluid during service appointments? I do my own service, but I will take it in specifically for the dealer to change the brake fluid and flush the system.
I had an issue with an 09 Ultra that I purchased used in 2012. The previous owner had not had the fluid changed. The dealer changed the fluid and flushed the system with the Digital Technician. No issues after that.

Man this sounds like the same load of **** Honda said about the ABS problems they had on the ABS Goldwings. They had 2 recalls and as of the time I traded mine the issues were still not resolved.
This has done it for me. If I ever buy another bike, I will try to select one that doesnt have ABS. Seems like it simply doesnt work. Time will tell I suppose.

Oh and yes I have replaced my brake fluid in my Electra Glide. I'm not saying don't, I'm saying I have never heard of other brakes failing with old brake fluid. I hear the valves and other delicate parts in the ABS lock up.
