Default New 2015 Road Glide Special, corrupt GPS

Need some help...recently rode from Vancouver to Milwaukee. We had two other bikes with the harley GPS (2015 road glide special and an 2014 Ultra Limited).
Both of their GPS seemed to work fine.
Mine was off by hundreds of miles even on easy straight shot Interstate routes.
It would also try to get me to take every single exit that we passed...even if they were in the wrong direction.
We stopped at a dealer who checked that all 3 bikes had the most updated system software...which we reinstalled just to be safe.
But my GPS still won't work properly. I tried resetting the options to default and then reselected fastest route. Still won't work.

The dealer says that they don't have the software and that its an issue between the user and garmin.
I tried to download the restore file from the following website:
https://harley-davidson.naviextras.com
I tried to follow the instructions but the image won't authenticate on the bike.

I'm at a loss as to what to do and really pissed off that I can't get the GPS to work on a $30k bike.
Any suggestions????

try another dealer. the Harley gps has absolutely nothing to do with garmin.

Still under warranty? Have your dealer replace the entire unit.

You might try reading the manual? Sounds like you have a route running that missed a waypoint & it's trying to give you directions back to that waypoint.

Good thought here, when your map is up go over to the three lines on the right and then see if "stop" is a choice. That meant you had a route active.

If not then as stated above have it replaced and hopefully it's still under warranty.

I agree,this happened to me a while back.I was ready to pull the thing and trash it,as I was searching through the GPS I found where you click the three lines and then on my trip a pop up asked skip next way point I clicked yes and all was good . I had the trip planned from my house round trip ,but did not start it on the GPS until we made our first stop in Desoto forest when I hit start and got underway the GPS kept trying to take me back to actual starting waypoint because that's what I had put inthere.By skipping next way point my trip updated to where my second waypoint and put me back on track.

Who manufactures the Harley GPS units.
Is it Garmin, Tom Tom or somebody like Big Tommy's Electronics in downtown Elk Jaw, Wyoming?

And the answer is:




None of the above.

Hardware is H-K. Software is some outfit over in Europe that can't be found...

Have you done a hard factory reset.

To enter the service menu:

1) Turn ignition off and wait 15 seconds
2) Press and hold power/mute button. Turn ignition to accessory.
3) Continue to press power button for 2 seconds after warning screen is displayed.
4) Release power/mute button and accept warning

The service menu will display the following options:

1) DTCS
2) Audio a) EG (serves no purpose) b) Speaker test(s)
3) Display (test the LCD display briteness and color consistency)
4) Key input (test the faceplate hard keys, handlebar switches, and passenger controls)
4) Component menus (XM and Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service)
a) Module version-displays the XM versions
b) Subscription info
c) Signal status
d) XM antenna state (unsupported, detected, not detected, short, and unknown)
e) Tone generation (allows for generating left or right audio tone generated by the xm
module)
f) Navigation setting (no diagnostic value)
g) GPS status (displays a graphical representation of GPS satellite position&signal strength)
H) Tuner-displays the current frequency, signal strength, RDS/RBDS info for each tuner.
If the signal is unavailabe or out of range, the display may show dashes instead of a
value.
I) Compass indicates current direction
5) Version information (sub menus show navigation and database versions but offer no diagnostic
help.
6) Reset
a) Precalibration reset-restores factory settings-recommended when there are no problems or
DTCS..
b) Post calibration save-Archives customer settings after post calibration reset
c) Post calibration reset-Resets radio default settings and restores customer data stored in
post calibration save
d) Privacy reset-clears private data (phone pairing, phone #'s, presets, navi history)
7) Touchscreen Calibration 6.5 only
Calibrate the touchscreen by pressing the center of the displayed target. The target moves
to a new location on the screen after each press for a total of 3 presses. Press accept
for the calibration to update.
