Bike shutting down when put into first gear....please help, no way home..
Hey folks, I have my neighbor just call me from a few miles from home. He's got a 2010 FLHP, 103", 6spd police bike. The bike is bone stock, no mods at all. The bike fires up just fine, but as soon as it's put into first gear it shuts down. It's been running fine all day. He pulled in the clutch when starting and clutch still in when placing into gear. What gives ? Kick stand sensor ? Compensator ? Clutch ? Please help....Thanks.

Problem solved!!! Darn rock...
Goo news!!!! Thanks to everyone here first off. He just got the bike home. Yes, like many of you said it was the kick stand sensor .. We're in Canada, not sure if I mentioned it earlier. Anyways, there was a small stone/rock stuck in between the spring and the top of the kick stand where it folds up to the frame . Thus stone didn't allot the kickstand to full retract or return to its proper resting position, thus shutting the bike down when he put it into gear.. Many thanks to all the helpful folks so quick to help out a brother...neighbour is very grateful !!
Thanks again,
Joe
