Default Now I know what "lopey" means. S&S 509 Series CAM replacements

I had previously reported the worries I had with regards to the cam tensioners on my 05 Road King (28K). Sure enough when my indy opened her up, they were worn down to the point where they had to either be replaced or go with something different.

Decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to the gear drive S&S 509 Series cams.

She definitely has a little more giddy up on the low end. When I picked it up, Tom told me .... "Now she's gonna sound a little lopey on idle." I've heard that term before and now I think I understand what it means. My buddy heard it after the upgrade and said .... Yep. Now you've got that "potato potato potato" going. Sweet.

Here's what it sounds like now. I like it.

Yeah, that's the sound! I'm curious what the RPM is when idling.

It is a great sound & sounds even better going through the gears.. but I had to up the idle to 1075 so it wouldn't die when cold.
