I had a brief ride on a similar bike back in the 1970s. Being a short-**** I could just touch the tips of my boots on the ground - the very limit of my ability to hold the darned thing up! I bought a Super Glide instead....!

Sounds familiar....I just bought a 2023 Electra Glide Highway King.

Fun thread, thank you. Y'all have some beautiful rides. My one and only Harley, 2009 ultra classic. Been in love ever since.

For the 2014 in addition to mentioned the following changes were introduced:
  • 49mm fork legs instead of 41.3mm
  • The frame has also been updated. The powertrain mounting plates have changed and sidecars can no longer be mounted to the touring frame because of this change.
  • The steering head and fork mounting were also significantly changed and the grease zerk has been eliminated.
  • increased compression ratio

Default Great thread!

I really enjoyed reading about the history of the iconic Harley Davidson Electra Glide. Here is my ‘06 Ultra Classic efi.

As I understand it there were also changes to the mating areas of the engine/transmission and that part of the frame. So I think it's safe to say they are different engines. Similar, but enough differences in enough areas to not be considered the same engine.
