You might laugh at this but it worked for me, Wife and I were in Wally world a couple of weeks ago and she bought a throw rug made out of knitted polyester strings. It is the right width and length for the seat. $.98 We tucked it under the grab strap and rode 700 miles last weekend. no more monkey butt! Ive found the only way to cool the back side is to get some air to it. It worked for us. LOL Dan

Contact Allen at Mean City Cycles. He can take care of your problem at an extremely reasonable price. Trust not just me but many people here on the forum -- this is the best bang for your buck in getting a comfortable seat. If I ever buy a new seat, I'll send it to Allen to "fix" it before I ever start using it.

I don't think "softening" is really what you need. The softer, the less air entrapment. Depending on where your at,Mean city or Alligator Bob can reshape it to your contour. A Mustang Regal would also do the trick. Highly recommended on this forum.

Just put on a few pounds that should do it.

Hey...I tip the scales at 235# right now. I have 11,000 + miles on my bike. All by me. But this seat is driving me crazy. Longest road trip was 2,200 miles up to Maine and back. I think the seat should be broken in by now, but it's getting worse.

For under $50, you can get a sheepskin pad. I have been using them for 4 years and it helps a lot, especially during hot weather. I have tried gel, air, and bead pads, but the sheepskin works best. Alaskaleather.com is a great source.
