Need SE Pro tuner advice

Not that I doubt you... Just want to clarify, but, advanced +2° ?? ... not retard -2° ? ... The typical thing is to retard the timing for a ping or knock... As the ping is caused by ignition too colse to TDC... The retarded timing gives things more time to happen in the cylinder... spark happens a little further on the down stroke and reducing or eliminating the ping.

True... Just making sure it's what he meant.
I have one more tune I want to try with richer AFR in the ping areas before I try a tune I have set for timing changes in the ping areas... I believe I'm close but never hurts to ask what others have done... I'm pretty smart, but I never make the mistake of thinking I'm the smartest one in the room.

you have not said if the ping is confirmed on the knock retard line.
you have not said that you have advanced the timing from stock map.
you have not applied the my tune suggested timing change and compared what change and where. Is it where the knock retard.
I would like to rule out exhaust leak, leak at where the header attaches.
I agree retard timing or add fuel are the norm solutions.

Not sure what you mean in the first statement...
No, the timing is currently stock... or rather what the canned Harley map is for stage 1.
No, I have not applied the My Tune suggested timing yet. I want to try one more AFR adjustment first. I have two timing adjustment files saved. One with just the My Tune suggested timing and another with additional manual changes. The My Tune version does not cover the full ping area. (approx. 2300 to 3500 depending on MAP... speed, throttle and gear.)
I believe an exhaust leak is not an issue. The new pipe was installed with new gaskets and torqued to spec per the service manual procedure. Then rechecked after a couple rides. I would think a leak at the head connection would be more likely to show as a lean pop on decel instead.

ping if caused by pre detonation will be recorded when you do data runs. you can then see on the knock retard line where it occurred as timing is pulled by the ecm (though a tad after the event). so I asked if the ping you are hearing is actually caused by early detonation. answer that first to eliminate.

Lots of the advise received here is worth just what you are paying for it.
Save up and get ready for the upcoming dyno, as part of your performance upgrade with the cat gone, along with other enhancements. Think system integration, the sum of it all coming together, it will be well worth it.
Congrats, best wishes, and ride safe with the upcoming snappy throttle!

Oh... I hear ya... Thanks!
But I do enjoy learning the system. It helps fine tune my B/S detector. A finely tuned B/S detector is also well worth it.
Shiny side up sir!

Now that is some good information! ... I did not realize there was that specific information there. I've checked the recorded data before but don't remember the knock retard lines being there. I had assumed viewing the data was only useful with smart tune live... And yes, there are pre detonation events recorded.
Assuming this could be used in conjunction with other data lines to help locate specific cells in the tables where adjustments can be made?

The instructions and tutorial for the product seem to contradict your statement... You would need to explain your position in more detail for me.
