Modding Drivers Backrest To Lower IT?

Just went out to my shop and tackled it, took about 2-hours and two bottles of Ultras to complete but I'm "OCD"....repainted last night, riding by 7:45 this morning.
Rode 110 mile loop today, my shoulder pain is gone and my tailbone is a huge fan of adding the backrest as well.
Guessing I may be able to ride a continuous 150 miles plus without needing to get off and recover. It's not really a problem swinging my leg over the top of the backrest now. I was only going to put it on for longer rides, but for now, I'm just leaving it on.

My mod was more simplistic. I cut the bar and overlapped it, drilled two holes and bolted the overlapped pieces together tightly (because I don't have a welder!). This lowered it well over an inch and now puts the backrest down at the top of the seat where it supports my lower back.
