Default 07 RK classic 96ci heat issues

hey guys, haven't been on here in a while. now that weather is hot what is it with the heat on this bike. its my first HD so I don't know everything about them. I got all running issues fixed and its running great with power vision. but its almost too much heat to ride the damn thing.
I came out of work the other day it was around 95 out and got a few miles down the road and had to stop and get off the bike as my right lower *** cheek was on fire haha. I've never seen this on other bikes I've had. is this just the way it is? or should I change out the head pipes? I have stock head pipes with wild pig slip on's. I have looked at the heat shields but they all look cheap as hell and not many good reviews as far as being durable.
throw me some answers here guys
thanks

Its a big 'ol v twin with the exhaust right under your azz so you'll never get rid of it all.
I put the Kuryakyan mid frame shields on my 07 Ultra Classic and it has helped. Running a richer tune should help some as would an oil cooler and some type of parade fan.

I think that one of our Crotch coolers will certainly help your problem. They have a larger footprint than the plastic ones and they are by far much easier to install. If you have any questions just email or give us a call Thank you Itch

I will for sure vouch for a Captain Itch Crotch cooler!! On my 07 FLHT it made a huge improvement. I tried the HD plastic ones first and they don't even come close to the Captian Itch!

I have an 07 myself. Mid frame air deflectors and change to duals really helped out so you get less heat from right side under you.

I have the RJS Originals. A little pricey but very functional and attractive.

Put a tuner on it if it doesn't already have one.

Put a set of Wards fans or Love Jugs on it ...

Yes, you are sitting on top of a heat pump, so there will be heat.
Is the heat you are complaining about all the time, or just in traffic?
A lot of variables here.
Some type of heat deflector is definitely in order.

But what caught my eye, you said running issues fixed with the PV.
What kind of running problems?
What mods to the bike?
How did you fix them?

A bad tune will cause excessive heat.

I would try a different tune. I have an 08 with a FM micro tuner and with the tuner it's not bad in La. summer heat. Take the tuner off and it gets HOT when the temp is 90+. Fall thru spring I take the tuner off.
