That sure looks like a better paint protection than the HD version that cost $1000, which is more of a wax and is worthless

never heard of HD paint protection.

Fairing takes a beating as we all know. This is a kinda simple DIY for any bagger owner. Prep takes time though: clean, wax, prep w/ paint tape etc.

Well, prepped and resprayed. It has that 'milky' color till it dries.

I sprayed outside in the yard once but too many things fly into the wet spray (knats, leaves, fuzz from cottonwoods etc) so now spray in the cellar. Once it solidifies a bit will put in the yard for a few hours of sun. Then let it sit a few days to cure.

sprayed.

supposed to remove the tape while its wet else the goo may dry on the tape and when you pull it off, it pulls off the dried coating.

instructions call for 2 layers of tape, but thats on a car hood. I think I used 2 before, but not this time.

no issue if it 'runs'. It dries clear so even a chunky drip isn't quite noticeable, esp in an area around/under the headlight no one sees.

I wouldn't touch this stuff with a 10' pole. The ratings on Amazon are pretty poor, 1-star being the highest percentage:

1-star being the highest percentage:

Hmmm...someone needs to learn basic math.

Most failure w/ the product is due to improper prep work or spraying incorrectly. Learning curve w/ this product that's for sure.

Works great on a fairing and the proof is in the 8000 of beating it took last summer riding to the East Coast and back.

How so? 32% of people reviewing this product on Amazon gave it 1 star. The largest percentage of reviews. You're obviously a fanboy for this stuff, more power to you... but I for one would never put this on any vehicle I own. Seems like many Amazon reviewers agree.

I don't see the draw backs other than a long tedious prep. The product seems to work and might be worth protection on a long trip, especially on my Vivid Black.
