Default Chubby's Baby Apes (513's) on Road King Classic

Getting ready to pull the trigger on some new handle bars for my RKC, and want to get it right this time. Currently running HD extended reach bars (# 55954) and they just are not comfortable on longer runs.Need to come up a bit on the rise, and add about 2 inches to the pull back so I can sit straight in the seat against the backrest. Looking at several Chubby options, 518's / 517's, but the baby apeslook like a fix as well. To those who may have some experience with the 513's on a bagger, would love to hear your feedback, pros / cons.

Thanks,
DR

I run 18" apes. I am 6'1" and have never been more comfortable on a longer ride. 18" may be to much for you, but apes on a king look awsome. Of course that is only my opinion.

I have Road King Classic also. I had the Reduced Reach bars as well. Over the winter I installed 518's they let you lean back against the back rest but there is too much 'wheelbarrow' angle for me it is making my hand sore. I went with the 518,s partially because I could reuse all of the lines.

I put the 515's on my Road King a few weeks back. The have a 10" rise. Had to rewire everything. Prior to the Chubby's, I had the Road King high bars on. I find these to be much more comfortable for 2 reasons.
1. The angle of the hand position is better, not bending my wrist like the high bars did.
2. More heigth, allows you to lean back more.
If I had it to do over, I probably would have went with the 12" bars - but these are much better than the high bars.

513's are like the WG except chubbies - and work Great on Baggers... I tried them on my RG but I had to sit just a little forward in the seat - changed to the 517's "perfect" however, becasue of the grip angle - took alittle getting used to. Just finished a 1000 weekend and "I" am totally broke in on the 517's, very nice ride... keep in mind I am 5'6" and have short arms... The 513's are close by - I really do like them also - If I need any seat work in the future at Corbin - I will fix the seat issue and go back to the 513's
