2016 Street glide bars hit fairing, need more arm length!
My buddy is in a bind with his new 2016 Street Glide. He does not want to change the bar height or width, but when he put the bars all the way forward they hit the fairing and still needs more for his arm length. I dont know if the seat is too far forward and can be switched out or if new bars are made for it too take care of his problem. Any info would be helpful, as always! Thanks.

Depends just how much a problem this is. There are seats available which will move him backwards. Suggest he speaks to his dealer, as they should have stock and he should also be able to try on his own bike. It's in his salesman's interest to have a happy customer! Getting a comfortable fit is something Harley and their dealers are keen on, so he should spend a little time with them. There are also aftermarket seats.

I've finally gotten my fitment just right for me, but to do that I've had to change the seat, bars, footboards and brake pedal. I'm no giant, just 6' with a 32' inseam.
I'd say if you don't want the bars any higher or wider then try an extended reach seat, especially if you can demo one. The thing to remember is that the bars, seat and boards form a triangle and anything you do to one effects the other two. Changing the seat also effects how the windshield works. What worked best for me was to get my lower body comfortable with the seat and boards, then new handlebars.
