I have a 07 Softail completely stock besides pipes. Runs great with no plans for any changes.

Mine pulls great loaded two up with all 3 storage units full. Nice running motor. No change needed for me at all.

Anyway, there are a lot of Ultras for sale with the 96". Most people on here do not seem to be happy with the 96" . I was wondering anyone have a mostly stock 96" they like? I know its no firebreather, but surely some people have to be a happy with it just the way it is.
My last two 88" I built up (mainly because you already had to address the tensioner shoes, so hell why not at that point). Id like to not dump another $2000 in the motor right away with the SE103 stage 2 package.
Will the 96" adequately haul these bikes around with a passenger on back? Anyone in forum land like their stock 96"?
More then happy here. 2008 Ultra, 96", stock, just some VH slip ons.

The big deal is the 6-speed tranny and 6 gallon tank....very nice after having the 5 speed and always looking for another gear on the Interstate, the extra fuel is nice too, fewer gas stops..

A lot of the "stock" 96's encounter hot start problems with the SE-255 ... though they do provide a lot of low end grunt.

MY 07 Ultra was great. Just retired it last year with 117000 miles. Good power for 2up.

Another '07 Ultra owner. Just put 551 Easy Start cams in but not necessarily for power. I did it hoping to reduce my hot start issues and so far I'm very pleased with the decision. I have thought all along though that the bike had plenty of power for me. 51K miles and no complaints on the 96" with 6 speed.

I had a 2008 road glide with the 96 and a 2009 street bob with a 96. My only complaint was the way the road glide's rear cylinder exhaust was routed, it would get a little warm on my leg in stop and go traffic. The exhaust routing was changed in 2010, I believe. I don't notice the heat nearly as much with my 2011 road king. But power wise, the 96 did the job just fine. Can't tell that much difference between the 96 and the 103.

Okee Dokee ... If you say so. It's common knowledge and it's very true and one of the reasons S&S made the Easy Start cams.

My 96 is more than adequate for me. Has 100,700 miles on it and at least half those miles have been with a passenger. Has plenty of power for me with and without a passenger.
