Do the CVO bikes still come with a gold key? I thought they eliminated that a year or two ago.

-premium shocks
-keyless ignition
-felt lined bags with a Tour Pak organizer
-removable bag liners
-trickle charger

FWIW, my '16 RGU didn't come with felt-lined bags, and if it had I would have tossed out the felt. Had those in my CVO and they (along with the power lock hardware) took up way too much room in the bags.

They 86 the brass made (gold) key for 2016.

IRRC, the MoCo can make one for your current bike and will only run around $75ish beans.

To be honest, mine has been in the original box, stored away and forgotten about till someone else bought it up on another forum board.

Not to mention, it looks like parts of key would break off like the poorly made lifters that some folks with the CVOs have encountered.

Are you referring to the 2006 in your sig line or a 2016?

$90 plus sales tax at your local dealer now. Must provide proof of CVO ownership. You can buy 1 per year. Bought my wife one for her 09. First thing she did was take the regular key hang it on the spare key board and slap the gold key on her FOB.

Many good comments here, thanks!! Yes, options/wants/needs for a touring bike are all subjective.

My apology for not explaining the pricing difference for my potential purchase. Being a long time customer at the particular dealer where I would be making my purchase the difference between the RGU and the RGU CVO I am considering would be right at $12k. By the time I added the things I'd like on the RGU I'd be at about the $6-7k mark plus installation and I still wouldn't have the 110 engine, paint, etc. By adding some of the things I want the difference between the two bikes really would not be as far apart as one would think. That said, $4-5K difference is still $4-5k. lol

That monster put out 121h/132t. Now, I'll just keep this motor stock. I may take it out to Skip's Cycle in Winchester for a dyno tune after I do the first 1K mile service.
I put a Corbin Classic Solo on it this past week, added the freeway pegs from the 06 along with the matching floor board fillers, foot brake and shifter peg. Pulled the passenger boards off along with the passenger back rest on the tour pack. I'm looking for something to fill the holes left in the tour pack from the mounting bolts of the passenger backrest. Added LED fog lamps from Cirius in the crash bar and a garage door opener and wired them to accessory switch kit I mounted in the LH dash. I'll be putting a car tire on this one after the Dunlop wears out. I have a CT on the 06RG which has about 15K miles on it. Motorcycle tires wear out in less than 5k miles on it. I have the H-D LED headlights and just found out if ya turn the ignition **** to accessory and point the bike at a wall, you can see the H-D logo on the wall when its dark enough.
Thank you for your service EasternSP.
Any chance you could post a pic or two? I'm having difficulty imagining a tour pack and a solo seat.
