Default Just FYI-Update on Michelin Commander II

I have 22,125 miles on my MC IIs and am going to replace them now, but have been a great tire in all conditions. Washing-scrubbing them when new is a good tip to get rid of all the stuff that's on them when new, and keeping pressure up are my 2 recommendations. I run 40 up front and 42 in the back on an 08 Ultra. 130-80-16 Front and 140-80-16 rear.
The rear wore evenly and in need of replacement. The front could go a while yet (sorry no measurements) but is cupping now so I will do both. Not bad for a heavy bike that is regularly loaded down pretty good and not to mention the cost difference from the stocker replacements. Hope this helps others that are tire shopping.

I had 20K miles on my rear, with lots of tread and picked up a rather large nail... Dammit..! Replaced with another MCII, really like them. My front still has about 10K remaining, I hope. Will buy again for sure.. Air pressure: front-40 psi, rear-44 psi

I agree, just put a couple in my cart on Amazon. I know I could get more life out of the front, but tires are something I don't like to skimp on.

Good to hear you are getting that type of mileage. I love my Commander II's and I agree on the pressure, I find 40 up front and 41 in the rear seems to ride and wear the best.

Hey, thanks. I put commander ll on my bike last year and never thought about scrubbing them. I wish I had known that then

I'd be interested to know the tread measurement left if you get a notion to check it.

FYI,cupping is often caused by tire going out of balance as it wears so get some ride on and install it because it not only keeps tries in perfect balance thru entire srv'c live it also protects them from up to 1/4" puctures from nails/screws etc too.

I have been using ride-on it in the last 3 sets of tires on my bikes and have not had any cupping at all including on one bike that i removed horibly cupped tried from that were mech balanced using wheel weights.

But the next set of tires i installed on that bike got ride-on and they never cupped thru their entire srv'c life on that bike.

I am currently running Cs'2 on my latest bike (09 flhtcu) & have approx 9,500miles on them thus far and front tire still looks like it has approx 75% tread life left in it & rear still looks like it has approx 60-65% tread life left in it with no signs of cupping on either tire thus far along with them still riding smooth as glass at all road speeds.

Here's a link to the ride-on website to chk it out for yourself.

I've got a set waiting for me at a local indy shop. I'll have them spooned on next week. I have a ride this weekend that's going to put my OEMs past the wear bars. 13K on them now, will be at 14K come Monday...

This stuff looks like a great idea. I'm thinking it might not work for me because I have spoked wheels w/ tubes??
