Default ***** Shiney/Ricks Chrome

I haven't found any newer threads on ***** Shiny or Ricks Chrome plating so I thought I would share my experience and pics with both.

Both were prompt with delivery and both seem to have very good chrome. Ricks didn't seem to be as personable as Joe over at ***** Shiny so if you need a "warm and fuzzy" when making a purchase, keep that in mind.

I went with ***** Shiny wheels, brake calipers, and forks because of a couple of things. One...he had the brake calipers in chrome and they are machined to get rid of the Harley logo's, etc. and they look amazing. Two, ***** Shiny didn't charge me a core deposit. He took it on my word that I would just send everything back to him (they are in the box now and going out today). There is a note on the invoice to let me know they will charge me $900 if everything isn't sent back within 30 days.

***** Shiny didn't have the brake rotors I wanted so I got those from Ricks. They are nice and look a lot better on our stock 2012 wheels. He charged me $215 for those with the chrome bolts and I think they look great.

All in all for chrome front and rear wheels, brake rotors, calipers, chrome fork lowers, Arlen Ness "beer cans", new fork seals, fluids, and a flush mounted axle, I spent $1767.00 in parts. If you can do the work yourself and mount an balance your tires you can save a TON of money in labor.

When I started this journey I was going to purchase a 21" front wheel with matching rotors, and an arlen ness front end that was going to run me $2900.00 installed. So I saved over a grand and have a rear wheel in chrome and chrome calipers as well.

Looks great and the finish is really nice.

Again, just wanted to give people a fresh post to see what chroming options are out there.

I like the looks of the Ness "beer cans". Good looking ride for sure. I'm looking at both Rick's and ***** Shiny for chrome lowers. I have seen Rick's on Ebay for 169.00 plus the ride but don't see anything on *****'s site for Rushmores. Sent them an email but haven't heard back.

Thanks, I was nervous about those ness beer cans after I bought them. I thought it would be TOO MUCH chrome but I think it came out well.

***** Shiny's website is old and hasn't been updated. I was giving him grief on that. Call directly. Joe Cutshall: 909-815-4139

Very helpful.

Bike looks great! I'm looking to having my wheels chromed and rotors polished, I'll try both of these places for pricing.

There is also Custom Chrome that seems to be good. I found that ***** Shiny had a lot of good reviews and he didn't charge me a core charge up front.

I'll try them too. I know sport chrome polishes rotors, but I'm not sure of the pricing.

Do the exchanges have to be for the exact wheel you are sending in? I have some knuckle wheels off my 10 that I would like to exchange for some enforcers.

Yes they do. The exchange is for the exact same wheels you currently have.

Do a little research ... Rick has had some problems in the past with quality or so I've read on the internet ... trust everyone but always cut the cards.

Exactly why I didn't go with Ricks. Too many bad comments on him. His rotors aren't bad though. I'm sure he sells a ton and as we all know, the majority of people that go online to give reviews are the people that are pissed off.

I have no issues with ***** Shiny and I'm happy with the purchase.
