Default Radio question

If I replace the OEM radio with a Bluetooth version or any other radio for that matter will the handlebar controls still work it like the stock radio? Don't see how but thought I would ask

Haven't looked into it for the HD but for cars you just buy an adapter to interface with the controls. Id be willing to bet there's a similar device for the bike.

biketronics or hawgwired both make kits that will retain handlebar controls but u have to use a head unit that is steering shell control capable.

I just went through this. The head unit does have to have the input for a steering wheel control device in the rear of the unit. Think it was called a remote input. I tried the Metra ASWC and had no luck with that but others have. Went with the Hawg Wired and all the handlebar functions work great! Truly plug and play!! Biketronics makes an interface also.

Aquatic and Jensen are plug and play, they work with the stock handlebar controls. With other aftermarket stereos, it will note whether and what kind of an adaptor you need. Most of the big name stereos work with an adaptor kit.

Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC all will work as long as they have the remote input jack on the rear. You will need some type of "controller" to interface between your harness and the new HU. I tried the Axxcess interface along with the pre-wired harness but could never get it to work with my Sony Marine HU. I used the Hawg Wired unit and it works flawlessly! There is lots of info over in the audio forum!
