I am just stunned that the H.D. people would have any part with the word "Jiffy" on such cool bikes...

Sounds like something on a Vespa...not a SG!

Last year I was at a rally with a buddy of mine and several of his friends, all goldwingers. One of the guy was trying to clean up his wing before the parade. We were all standing around watching as he rubbed on his bike...until it did a slow roll to the left when his kick stand folded up. These guys had been giving me a hard time for two days, being the only one in the group on a Harley. So, I pointed out to all the wingers that if they had bought a Harley, that would have never happened. That was the third time it had happened to the same guy...

If you start to rest your bike on the stand and you hear a popping sound , pick it back up and insure your stand is ALL the way forward and in the lock. If you don't you will discover why there are guards around your bags.

Yeppers, still have not got use to it. I still catch myself grabbing it thinking it is going to fold up and go down.

When my buddies and I went to the bike show in January, every bike we got off of seemed to roll forward on the stand. It was freakin us out and we kept going to grab it. Last night we were commenting that either our three bikes don't do it, or we just aren't noticing it anymore.

I can't get used to it, so I put a centre stand on it. Much more stable, easier to get it up on the stand than any metric I've ever had, and it's great for working on or just cleaning the bike. I now only use the jiffy for the transition from getting of the bike to putting down the stand, It's worth the piece of mind.
